Preserving Your Life’s Story

MiVuw is a comprehensive service that provides you with a visual record of your personal story, from your ancestry up to today.

We will collect together all your old photos, slides and suitable documents, then scan them in high resolution before restoring them for inclusion in a physical book together with digital files. We even provide the option to colourise these images to add a level of detail that would otherwise be missed.

As time passes, these images would be lost or forgotten, now they are preserved as part of your personal legacy.

The Process

A MiVuw Photobook starts with us meeting with you and your family to discuss the process, the format options and content. We will then collect all relevant photos (including slides and negatives), then record the relevant details for each image (date, location, circumstances, etc.) which will be included in the final book. We will also include historical documents that might be included as part of this process.

We will work out with you the sequence and the sizes, while capturing any relevant details and information that will be included in the book.

Once these have been collected we will commence the scanning process for these photos and documents in high resolution. We prefer to do this at your site.

The next step is to restore or enhance each image as required. This includes faded and sepia photos as well as those that may have been damaged over time. We will include a copy of the original image together with the restored file. Where possible we will restore the colour of faded prints and slides, while performing basic retouching of blemishes and imperfections caused by aging.

We will then resize the images as agreed for the chosen layout.

There is also the option to colourise these historic portraits. We use AHI (Augmented Human Intelligence) which gives us the ability to re-create an image in full colour which represents the people and time as realistically as possible. This allows us to colourise each photo, and correct any changes, so as to ensure its integrity with the original image.

Once restoration of the images has been completed we will commence collating these, along with relevant information into the discussed layout and sequence. This will include dates and circumstances together with any provided background information. We will then finalise layout and have this proof read along with yourselves. Any amendments or additional inclusions can be made at this time.

With the assembly of the layout complete, we will commence turning this into a digital file which will include a flipbook version together with digital files for each image.

We will then send you a preliminary view of the Photobook and confirm changes before final printing.

Finally, we will provide you with a full hard cover printed book. This will be in high quality printing and can be made available in multiple copies for physical sharing.
